| Many battlefields are notorious for being haunted. One example being Gettysburg, which is almost as famous for it's ghostly happenings as for its horrific history. One such battlefield in the Hoosier state is the Tippecanoe Battlefield, just north of Lafayette, IN. Many men died fighting bravely here, Native Americans and pioneers alike. According to reports sometimes the battle still rages on. War cries and sounds of the battle are said to be heard here if you're passing through on just the right occasion. More impressive yet are the eyewitness accounts of Indians on horses, soldiers in full uniform, and scenes of the battle itself apparently repeating themselves. Go here to learn more about the awesome history of the battleground. This place is an impressive sight. The battlefield itself, monuments, surrounding woods, and trails all bring about an astounding feeling. This place is historic in the truest sense. It was definitely an amazing experience to stand where so many laid and took their last breath. The strife of the past events here is gone, but the memory remains. It is quite possible that this particular haunt is residual in nature. Most of the recollections of the stories would lead us to believe this for several reasons, mainly due to the apparitions not seeming to notice anyone (alive, that is) around them. As for evidence, none was to be found on this evening. This may be a quiet spot for paranormal activity, but a very interesting trip that anyone in the area should make, nonetheless. |
