| Spooky Spaghetti I worked as a bartender in downtown Indianapolis at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Standard procedure on the weekends was to put the over flow of guests into the banquet room. One Friday night before the banquet room was seated, I was in the womens employee restroom which is located under neath the banquet room. I was alone downstairs, which is pretty creepy to begin with. There is the basement, then a locked door which leads to catacombs underneath the city. That is where the beer cooler was. I only went to the beer cooler twice the whole 6 years I worked there. It was just SCARY looking down there. -Back to my story- So I am in the bathroom getting ready for my shift, alone and all of a sudden I hear a baby cry. I shudder, and think to myself that I am hearing things. Then I hear it again, and it lasts a little longer. So I got freaked out, thinking that a homeless person had snuck in somehow and left a baby. I ran up to the banquet room and find it had not been seated yet. So I get a server and a manger, tell them what I heard, and off we go looking for a baby. To no avail! I know what I heard. And it spooked me till the day I left. I found out after that incident that managers will often hear kids laughing in a back stairwell when they are alone. And I heard from a source once, that that building was indeed a factory that employed children in the early 1900's, back in the days before child labor laws. I never researched that info. But I know what I heard. It's makes my hair stand on end to this day. ---Cha Cha |
