| From a Skeptic to a Believer This falls perfectly into the category of skeptic-to-believer (I'll call it from a Scully to a Mulder). This actually happened to a couple, who are close family friends. I'm just going to use the woman's first initial, which is M. Anyway, the house she grew up in had a bevy of paranormal activity. She awoke one night and saw a jar of coins shaking in her face, and looked to see who was holding them, no one was... The toilets flushed by themselves, footsteps were heard, doors slamming, cold spots, etc. They were not harmful spirits, just annoying and rambunctious. Well, M's husband is a doctor, and always told M and her family that they were all crazy, that there was no such things as ghosts, and that there was a "logical" explanantion for it all. One weekend, M and her husband visited her mother, who still lived in the same house. M, her mother, and some of the other women decided to go shopping, and left M's husband at the house by himself to babysit his niece, who was not yet a year old. He was sitting in the living room, watching TV, when all of a sudden, he heard what sounded like someone running up and down the upstairs hallway. He turned off the TV and started to make his way upstairs, continuing to hear the sounds. As he got up to the hallway, he felt a coldness, but assumed it was a draft from somewhere, most likely. He wanted to check on the sleeping baby, and went up to the door of her room, which was almost all the way open. He had just put his foot on the threshold, when...BAM, the door loudly slammed in his face, he said it almost got him in the nose. It wasn't a door that moved easily, either. (I have been in the house). He turned and ran down the steps, opened the front door, went out onto the front porch, and slammed the front door behind him. He stayed outside on the porch until everyone came home. When M came up to him, asking why he was outside, he told her, "let's just say I believe you now." He had left the baby inside, refusing to go back in the house by himself! - Jenn |
