| OUR FINDINGS............... |
||||||||||||||||||||||
| We arrived around 8pm with a group of nine people. We broke out the equipment, set up the cameras, and split up. Some going upstairs, the others choosing the infamous basement, and one member decided to hang out in the kitchen and chat with the home owners. Not even 20-30 minutes into the investigation, a member of the group upstairs reported hearing five or six keys of a piano being struck. Upon immediate inspection, everyone was accounted for, and had not left their perspective groups. The piano in the house downstairs appeared to be locked up tight with the covering over the keys being shut, and a "Do not touch" sign in place. Was this possibly just a trick of the ears? Around the same time as the piano was heard upstairs, the team in the basement was making a slow but steady EMF sweep. The room proved to be both problematic and interesting. The wiring in the basement presented it's obvious problems, setting off the meters while trying to take readings. That being said, it is worth noting that several spots were making the EMFs fluctuate, and showed no consistency whatsoever. Also, at one point, while getting a particular EMF reading, the question was posed "Is there a spirit here?" at which time the reading abruptly stopped. However, this could be coincidental, as EMF readings in this basement have since been found to often fluctuate. Our only possible photo evidence has been debunked by Kodak themselves, and can be found on our false positives page. It is the "orb" that appears to be moving through the basement of the house. That just goes to show, orb photos are completely worthless, even ones such as this. We did happen to catch some video we could not explain. This ironically enough, is a ball of light floating through the air. What makes it special is that it was shot on a non infrared camera, in total darkness. Infrared (nightshot) is known for picking up moving dust orbs on video, but this is not the case here. Check out our video section to see this. An EVP was also caught during this investigation. You can find it in our EVPs section if you would like to listen to it. It seems to be answering one of our investigators' questions, although which one is worth arguing about. It is up to the viewer/listener to determine if these bits of media are evidence of the paranormal at Indianapolis' Hannah Mansion. We have not made up our minds yet..... |

| Hannah House is the kind of place that some just look at and say, "Now that place has got to be haunted!" If you explore local legend, you'll hear from many that it most definitely is. The Hannah House was built in 1858 by Alexander Hannah. Hannah was a prominent figure in the community in many ways. A strong moral belief of Hannah's was that taking a man as a slave was wrong, and even went so far as to make the house a stop on the Underground Railroad. Hannah's cellar doubled as a safe haven for escaped slaves. As legend has it, one tragic night, a lantern that was lighting the basement was knocked over. Many of the hiding slaves were killed very quickly. The fire was extinguished before major damage was done to the house, but for those who perished it was too late. Since then, there have been reports of spectral slaves hiding in the darkness of the cellar. Also, a ghostly older woman has been reported roaming a second floor bedroom. The ghost of what some claim to be Hannah himself has been reported as well. These stories are intriguing, but proof is better. With that in mind, we set out to try and capture evidence of any spirits of times past that remain at their former...(or is that current?) home at 3801 Madison Ave. |
